This Privacy Policy describes how we (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handle information when you use the Remapper Android application (the “App”). Remapper lets you remap hardware buttons, gestures, and on-screen touch controls to custom actions on your device, such as launching apps, controlling system settings, and running shortcuts.
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
Information We Collect
We collect or process the following categories of information:
Remapping settings and user content (stored on your device)
To provide the App’s core features, the App stores your remapping configuration locally on your device, including:
- Button and gesture assignments (for example, volume keys, Home, Back, Recent, Bixby, headset/media keys, fingerprint sensor, and custom-detected buttons)
- Assigned actions (for example, launching apps or shortcuts, navigation, screenshots, flashlight, notifications, sound and volume controls, media controls, Wi-Fi/Bluetooth/NFC toggles, phone answer/end, scroll/copy/paste, and custom menu items)
- Gesture settings (for example, single, double, and long press timing, shake detection, and floating on-screen touch button settings)
- Per-app exclusion lists and related preferences
- Custom menu items stored in the App’s local database
- Advanced settings, UI preferences, and other App configuration data
This information is processed and stored locally on your device (for example, in app databases and SharedPreferences). We do not operate our own server to collect or store your remapping settings, and we do not sell this information.
Accessibility, input, and on-screen content (processed on your device)
The App uses Android’s Accessibility Service to detect button presses, touch events, gestures, and related system events so it can run the actions you assign. Depending on the features you enable, the App may also access on-screen window content on your device to support certain actions.
This processing occurs locally on your device to provide App functionality. We do not upload your button presses, gestures, screen content, or typed input to our servers.
The App is designed to detect operation events and run assigned actions. We do not collect typed text, passwords, credit card numbers, or similar personal information entered on your device. However, because the Accessibility Service can access broad system and window information when enabled, you should review the permissions you grant and use the App only if you are comfortable with this level of access.
Screenshots and files (stored on your device)
If you use screenshot-related actions, the App may create and store image files locally on your device. On older Android versions, storage permissions may be used for this purpose. Screenshot files remain on your device unless you delete or share them.
Installed app information (processed on your device)
To let you assign actions to apps, manage exclusion lists, or display app selection screens, the App may read information about apps installed on your device (such as app names, package names, and icons). This information is processed locally on your device and is not transmitted to us.
Usage and foreground app information (processed on your device)
If you use features that depend on detecting the current foreground app (for example, certain Bixby-related or per-app exclusion features), the App may read usage or foreground app information on your device. This information is processed locally to provide the requested feature and is not transmitted to us.
Notification access (processed on your device)
If you enable the App’s Notification Listener Service, the App may access notification-related information available through that Android service to support assigned actions (for example, notification-related controls). This processing occurs on your device to provide App functionality. We do not upload notification content to our servers.
Automatically collected information (third-party services)
When you use the App, certain information may be collected automatically by third-party services integrated into the App, including:
- Device information (such as device model, operating system version, and language)
- App version and general usage information
- IP address and network-related information
- Advertising ID, where available and permitted
- Crash logs, error reports, and diagnostic information
In release builds of the App, Firebase Analytics (Google) may collect usage information automatically. Firebase Crashlytics (Google) may collect crash and error reports. Analytics is included only in release builds.
Advertising-related information
The App displays advertisements through Google AdMob. Depending on your consent choices and device settings, AdMob and related Google services may collect information such as:
- Advertising ID
- Ad interactions (for example, impressions and clicks)
- Device and app information used to serve and measure ads
The App uses Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) to request consent where required, including for personalized advertising. If you do not consent to personalized ads, the App may request non-personalized ads instead.
Purchase information
If you purchase a premium subscription or one-time premium feature through Google Play Billing, payment processing is handled by Google. We do not receive or store your full payment card details. Google may provide us with purchase status information needed to enable premium features, such as whether a purchase is active.
Information you choose to send us
If you contact us by email, you may choose to include information such as your message, email address, and device details (for example, app version, device model, and Android version). We use this information only to respond to your inquiry.
How We Use Information
We use the information described above for the following purposes:
- To provide, operate, and maintain App features, including button and gesture remapping, action execution, custom menus, per-app exclusions, floating touch buttons, and related system controls when you choose to use them
- To save your preferences and restore App settings on your device
- To display advertisements and, where permitted, measure ad performance
- To analyze App usage and improve stability, performance, and user experience
- To detect, prevent, and address crashes, errors, and technical issues
- To process and verify premium purchases and provide ad-free or premium features
- To comply with applicable laws and enforce our terms
- To respond to support requests and user inquiries
We do not use your remapping settings, accessibility-related processing, or locally stored App content for advertising profiling, and we do not share that information with third parties for their independent use.

- Firebase Privacy and Security: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
The App also uses open-source libraries for UI, gesture detection, onboarding, and utility features (such as shake detection and toast compatibility workarounds). These libraries operate locally on your device and are not used by us to collect personal information.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share information only in the following circumstances:
- With service providers that help us operate the App (such as Google for ads, analytics, crash reporting, and billing), subject to their privacy policies
- When required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request
- To protect the rights, safety, and security of users, us, or others

Deleting the App does not delete information already collected by third-party services such as Google. To manage or delete data held by Google, refer to Google’s privacy tools and your Google account settings.
Data Security
We take reasonable measures designed to protect information handled by the App. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Because most App data is stored locally on your device, keeping your device secure (such as using a screen lock) helps protect your information. Screenshot files and remapping settings may reflect how you use your device, so please use caution when sharing files or granting system permissions.
Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
Your Privacy Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal information, such as the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing, or to object to certain uses.

International Data Transfers
Third-party service providers such as Google may process information on servers located outside your country of residence. By using the App, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in countries that may have different data protection laws than your country.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
