This Privacy Policy describes how we (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handle information when you use the Dual Camera Android application (the “App”). Dual Camera lets you preview and capture photos and videos using your device’s front and rear cameras—including concurrent dual-camera capture where supported—compose dual or split layouts, manage captured media in an in-app library, adjust camera-related settings, and optionally purchase premium features.
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
Information We Collect
We collect or process the following categories of information:
Photos, videos, and audio (stored on your device)
To provide the App’s core features, the App processes camera and microphone input on your device. Depending on how you use the App, this may include:
- Still images captured from the front camera, rear camera, or both
- Composite images (for example, picture-in-picture or split layouts)
- Video recordings from one or both cameras, including composite dual or split videos
- Audio recorded with video when the microphone is enabled (you may mute audio during recording)
- Temporary capture or composition files created while processing media
Captured photos and videos are saved locally on your device (for example, under galleries such as Pictures/MultiCamera and Movies/MultiCamera via Android MediaStore). Temporary files may be stored in the App’s cache. We do not operate our own server to collect or store your photos, videos, or audio, and we do not sell this information.
Please note that captured media may include sensitive or personal content. You are responsible for managing, sharing, and deleting this media as appropriate for your needs.
Camera and microphone content (processed on your device)
When you use the camera preview, take photos, or record video, the App processes visual (and, for video, audio) content on your device to provide preview, capture, composition, and saving features. This processing occurs locally on your device. We do not upload your camera feed, microphone audio, or saved media to our servers.
App settings (stored on your device)
The App stores preferences and configuration data locally, such as:
- Shoot mode (dual, split, or single), resolution, frame rate, and aspect ratio options
- Save-separate photo/video preferences, shutter sound, haptics, stabilization, HDR-related options
- Picture-in-picture layout and style, split layout preferences, and volume-button actions
- Media library display preferences
- Premium entitlement status used to unlock premium features (for example, ad removal and Save options)
This information is stored locally on your device (for example, in app preferences). Depending on your device and Android backup settings, some App settings may be included in Android backup.
Automatically collected information (third-party services)
When you use the App, certain information may be collected automatically by third-party services integrated into the App, including:
- Device information (such as device model, operating system version, and language)
- App version and general usage information
- IP address and network-related information
- Advertising ID, where available and permitted
- Crash logs, error reports, and diagnostic information
In release builds of the App, Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics (Google) may collect this type of information automatically. Debug builds do not send analytics or crash reports to Firebase.
Advertising-related information
Unless you have an active premium entitlement that removes ads, the App may display advertisements through Google AdMob (for example, banner ads in the in-app media library). Depending on your consent choices and device settings, AdMob and related Google services may collect information such as:
- Advertising ID
- Ad interactions (for example, impressions and clicks)
- Device and app information used to serve and measure ads
The App uses Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) to request consent where required, including for personalized advertising. If you do not consent to personalized ads, the App may request non-personalized ads instead.
Purchase information
If you purchase a premium subscription or a one-time premium feature through Google Play Billing, payment processing is handled by Google. We do not receive or store your full payment card details. Google may provide us with purchase status information needed to enable premium features, such as whether a purchase or subscription is active.
Information you choose to send us
If you contact us by email, you may choose to include information such as your message, email address, and device details (for example, app version, device model, and Android version). We use this information only to respond to your inquiry.
Information you share through other apps
If you use the system share feature to send photos or videos to another app, that media is transferred according to Android’s sharing mechanism and the privacy practices of the destination app. We do not control how those third-party apps handle your media.
How We Use Information
We use the information described above for the following purposes:
- To provide, operate, and maintain App features, including dual-camera preview, photo and video capture, composition, library browsing, sharing via the system share sheet, and related camera controls
- To save your preferences and restore App settings on your device
- To comply with applicable laws and enforce our terms
- To respond to support requests and user inquiries
- To display advertisements and, where permitted, measure ad performance
- To analyze App usage and improve stability, performance, and user experience
- To detect, prevent, and address crashes, errors, and technical issues
- To process and verify premium purchases and provide ad-free or premium features
- To prompt optional in-app reviews or app updates through Google Play services
We do not use your photos, videos, or audio for advertising profiling, and we do not share your media with third parties for their independent use, except when you choose to share media through other apps on your device.
Permissions Used by the App
The App requests certain Android permissions to function. These include:
- Camera (CAMERA): to preview and capture photos and videos using your device cameras
- Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO): to record audio with video (you may mute audio during recording)
- Storage (READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE): on older Android versions, to save or access media in shared storage where required by the platform
- Internet (
INTERNET): for ads, analytics, crash reporting, billing verification, and related Google Play / Google services - Advertising ID (
AD_ID): used for advertising on supported Android versions (may be declared transitively by advertising libraries)
On newer Android versions, the App typically saves and manages media through MediaStore without requesting broad storage access.
The App does not request location permissions, notification permission, or background/foreground service permissions for continuous capture.
Background Processing
The App does not run background capture services. Camera preview, photo capture, and video recording occur while you are using the App in the foreground.
Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services, which may collect information according to their own privacy policies:
- Google AdMob (advertising)
- Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) (advertising consent)
- Firebase Analytics (usage analytics, release builds)
- Firebase Crashlytics (crash and error reporting, release builds)
- Google Play Billing (in-app purchases and subscriptions)
- Google Play In-App Review (optional review prompts)
- Google Play In-App Update (app update prompts)
These services are provided by Google LLC and/or its affiliates. Their handling of information is governed by Google’s policies, including:
- Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
- Google Ads / AdMob: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads
- Firebase Privacy and Security: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
The App also uses open-source and Android platform libraries for camera, UI, preferences, and media handling (such as CameraX and Jetpack libraries). These libraries operate locally on your device and are not used by us to collect personal information.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share information only in the following circumstances:
- When you choose to share media with another app on your device
- When required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request
- To protect the rights, safety, and security of users, us, or others
- In connection with a business transfer, such as a merger or acquisition, if applicable
- With service providers that help us operate the App (such as Google for ads, analytics, crash reporting, and billing), subject to their privacy policies
Photos, videos, audio, and locally stored App settings are not transmitted to us, and are not shared with third parties except as described above.
Data Retention
Information stored locally on your device remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App. You can delete individual items from the in-app library (or from your device gallery), and you can change or reset App settings within the App.
Uninstalling the App removes App preferences and App-private files. Photos and videos saved to shared device storage (MediaStore / gallery folders) may remain on your device after uninstall unless you delete them separately.
Data Deletion
To remove locally stored App data, you can:
- Delete photos and videos from the in-app library or from your device gallery
- Clear or reset App settings within the App where available
- Uninstall the App from your device, which removes App preferences and App-private/cache files
Deleting or uninstalling the App does not automatically delete media you previously shared with other apps, and does not delete information already collected by third-party services such as Google. To manage or delete data held by Google, refer to Google’s privacy tools and your Google account settings.
Data Security
We take reasonable measures designed to protect information handled by the App. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Because App media and settings are stored locally on your device, keeping your device secure (such as using a screen lock) helps protect your information. Please use caution when sharing photos or videos with other apps or people.
Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
Your Privacy Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal information, such as the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing, or to object to certain uses.
You can make the following choices in the App or on your device:
- Manage ad consent through the consent flow provided in the App (Google UMP), where shown
- Reset your advertising ID or limit ad personalization in your Android device settings
- Revoke camera or microphone permissions in Android settings
- Mute audio during video recording
- Delete captured media from the in-app library or device gallery
- Cancel subscriptions through Google Play: https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/7018481
- Uninstall the App to remove locally stored App preferences and private files
If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or other regions with similar laws, you may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Because we do not operate servers that store your media or account data, most privacy requests relating to App content are handled by managing data on your device as described above. For inquiries about information you sent us by email, or about our privacy practices, contact us using the address below.
International Data Transfers
We do not operate our own servers that transfer your App media or settings internationally. However, third-party service providers such as Google may process information on servers located outside your country of residence. By using the App, you understand that such information may be transferred to and processed in countries that may have different data protection laws than your country.
If you contact us by email, or if you share media with third-party apps, those communications or services may also involve processing outside your country of residence according to the practices of the relevant email provider or third-party app.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
